What Can Mobile Methods Contribute to Qualitative and Interpretive Social Research Methods?
(via livestream)
Online Veranstaltung
Vortrag
Public lecture by Margarethe Kusenbach
Introductory remarks: Hajo Boomgaarden (Dean)
Margarethe Kusenbach (University of South Florida, USA) begins her talk by examining the origins and characteristics of mobile research methods, the Go-Along in particular. She then illustrates the strengths of this method within the context of qualitative and interpretive research practice via several examples. The goal is to show that -- and how -- Go-Alongs, building on their phenomenological origins, can facilitate new findings and access points in social research, thereby strengthening the methodological toolbox of the social sciences.
During Summer Semester 2021, Margarethe Kusenbach, Associate Professor of Sociology, is a Fulbright Visiting Professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Vienna. Her research areas are urban sociology, social psychology, environmental sociology, and qualitative research methods.
