Robert Brandom has championed the idea that genuine norms are profoundly social: not only do they govern and guide our discursive practices, they are also instituted by way of the recognitive attitudes people take up towards one another. On the occasion of Brandom's 2019 Brentano lectures (8-9 April, University of Vienna), we are hosting a workshop on the social dimensions of discursive norms.
