Vortrag

Reflecting on the question “Can we have a common Agenda”, a class of international Students (majority from the so called global south: Asia, Africa, South America ) studying International Social Science in Sachsen Anhalt, Germany takes a critical look at their course and their motivation for studying development. After the “post-development turn” should we continue to talk about development? In the paper we will present the views of the students who are caught in the dilemma of realizing that development institutions are part of a post-colonial world order on the one side and depending on the same institutions for their professional career on the other side. How this dilemma is reflected in the curriculum of the course is also discussed by a lecturer in the program.
