The 6th International Meeting on Mesozoic Fishes will took place in Vienna this year as a joint effort of the University of Vienna and the Natural History Museum, Vienna. This meeting brings together specialists working on fishes from the Triassic (ca. 251 million years ago) to the end of the Cretaceous (ca. 65 million years ago). New research results will be presented in 42 talks and 25 posters. The participants come from all over the world (e.g., Australia, Thailand, USA, Mexico, Argentina, Canada, Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Russia, etc.).

This year, we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of this successful meeting, which started in 1993 at the Jura-Museum Eichstätt, Germany. Gloria Arratia (Biodiversity Institute, Kansas University, Lawrence, USA) initiated this meeting to bring together scientists working on Mesozoic fishes from all around the world. In the following years, Mesozoic fish researchers came together in Buckow, Germany (1997), Serpiano, Switzerland (2001), Miraflores de la Sierra, Spain (2005), and Saltillo, Mexico (2010) to discuss their research results.
