Abstract
Scientific progress requires building upon many exponentially expanding foundations, and this massive combinatorial problem of synthesizing ideas across manifold publications needs a more efficient and effective methodology and supporting technologies. While citation indices and Google Scholar provide researchers with a wisdom of the crowd (Surowiecki, 2004) perspective and accelerate the discovery of possibly pertinent research, these approaches do not encode knowledge, and scholars have to read the results of their search and extract the core knowledge. The failure to digitally encode knowledge inhibits the growth of many fields, including IS.
Casual and process models are the core of knowledge and the foundation of scientific reasoning (Pearl and Mackenzie 2018). In Information Systems research, causal models are depicted in more than half of the more influential published articles in MIS Quarterly. The T-Rex project is developing a new approach and supporting technologies that enable researchers to code the causal and process models in publications as graphs and extract and synthesize ideas from the extant literature exhaustively and speedily. Bio
Richard Watson is a Regents Professor and the J. Rex Fuqua Distinguished Chair for Internet Strategy in the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. He is a former President of the Association for Information Systems. For about a decade, he was Research Director for the Advanced Practices Council of the Society of Information Management and a visiting researcher at the Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE) in Gothenburg.
Professor Watson has published over 200 journal articles and written books on electronic commerce, data management, and energy informatics. His most recent book is Capital, Systems, and Objects. His work has been accepted by leading academic and practitioner journals and has been translated into several lan-guages. Dr. Watson has given over 300 invited presentations to practitioners and academics in more than 30 countries, including conference keynotes on six continents. He was educated at the University of Western Australia (BSc, Dip. Comp), Monash University (MBA), and the University of Minnesota (PhD).
Covid 19 Regulations
Wearing an FFP2 mask is mandatory in all public areas of the University of Vienna.
Wearing an FFP2 mask is mandatory in closed rooms/indoor areas, unless all persons present are PCR-tested, vaccinated or recovered.
Presentation of a valid proof of admission (2.5G: PCR-tested, vaccinated, recovered)
Persons expected to be at the venue for more than 15 minutes must provide their name, phone number and email address.
Covid 19 Rules & Regulations (as of 8 November 2021):
Since 8 November 2021, 2.5G applies to everyone at the University of Vienna - students, visitors, suppliers and at the workplace. 2.5G in the sense of the Viennese regulation means that in addition to vaccination and recovery, only PCR tests are valid (48h).
Since 8 November, all employees have been instructed to enter the university buildings only with a valid 2.5G certificate. This directive also applies to civil servants, temporary workers, freelancers and contract workers.
The current 2.5G checks by security staff will be extended to include random checks of staff, visitors to events with less than 25 people, participants in guided tours and suppliers. There will be no change to the checks in the teaching area.
In view of the current infection figures, the other regulations currently in force will remain in place (in-cluding the obligation to wear FFP2 masks in public indoor areas).
Events can take place under the regulations and safety precautions that also apply outside the University of Vienna. Every planned event must be registered in advance with the event management.

For events with 26 or more participants the 2G rule applies. In the course of week 46 (tba), this changes in Vienna. The 2G+ rule (vaccinated, recovered and additionally PCR-tested) is going to apply.
