The COVID-19 pandemic may pose a methodological dilemma for researchers, during which traditional research methods do not work or cannot be employed. The objective of this workshop is to share experiences about current problems and changes that affect research around the globe to develop a shared understanding of the changed situation. The keynote explores how place, touch and texture – our collective settings, embodied actions and felt impressions of material things – are rich elements to attend to in seemingly ‘flattened’ screen-to-screen research.
