Sub-nosed monkeys in China: current status and future conservation

Biodiversity conservation and poverty is a global challenge to all countries, particularly for China with 50% of primate species inhabiting impoverished areas. To balance wildlife protection and human poverty, Chinese government introduced policies to alleviate poverty which has a positive effect on conservation for endangered wildlife, especial for nonhuman primates. There are four species of snub-nosed monkeys in China, however, all are endangered. In this lecture, I will present the current status, conservation action in the past, current threaten factors to these species.
