Are laws of logic normative? Do they, as Frege once claimed, prescribe “the way in which one ought to think if one is to think at all”? And if so, how and why? Or is this line of thought rather mistaken? Should we deny that logic has any specific normative status? And where would that leave us, if we still want to evaluate reasoning and now ask ourselves what norms are to be applied?
