The aim of the Workshop is to bring together a book manuscript written in Chicago (and Paris) about an important Episode of the history of science in Vienna with local experts. The book entitled "Language and the Mind: Encounters in the Mind Sciences" is written by the co-organiser of the Workshop John Godsmith (University of Chicago) and Bernard Laks (Professor of linguistics at the University of Paris Oues La Défense). It is the completion of a history of the interaction between linguistics, philosophy, and psychology which deals with the second half of the 19th century up until the beginning of World War II.
