This ERC-funded workshop features qualitative and quantitative social science research on moral engineering in contemporary China, a process through which the Chinese government seeks to shape citizens’ values and behaviors towards more contributions to the common good, greater social cohesion, and loyalty to the state. The workshop is co-organized with colleagues from the United States and will bring together around 30 participants from institutions including Academia Sinica, Oxford University, Peking University, UCLA, University of Georgia, University of Hong Kong, University of Rochester, Shanghai Jiaotong University, among others.

The event is open only to registered participants.
