Tecumseh Fitch, Julia Lajta-Novak and Tanja Traxler will share their experience and talk about what was important to reach the position they are in today, what they believe are factors of success for a career in academia, how a good work-life balance is possible and what research means to them. In an open athmosphere doctoral candidates will be able to ask questions and get valuable information for their career in academia.

 

Tecumseh Fitch is Professor of Cognitive Biology and Deputy Head of the Department of Cognitive Biology at the University of Vienna. In 2009 he was awarded the ERC Advanced Grant in 2009.

 

Julia Lajta-Novak is Postdoc at the Department of English and American Studies and winner of the renowned Hertha-Firnberg fellowship programme.

 

Tanja Traxler is a PhD candidate in the programmes Physic and Philosophy and was awarded the Doc Team Scholarship together with two colleagues.

 

This event is part of this years Welcome Days for PhD candidates.
