The potentials of cooperative competition in a hypercompetitve context

Present day companies function in a hypercompetitive context. So far in most companies

team work and cooperative relationships were encouraged and this was considered to be

the prerequisite of being successful in inter-company competition. However, the present

day crisis, firing of huge numbers of employees made explicit the within company

compeitive relationships. The present talk will focus on the possibility and conditions that

contribute to be able to be both cooperative and competitive at the same time. It also

introduces the notion of constructive competition and present research results that indicate

the situational, personal and cultural requirements of competition being constructive.
