Álvaro Hacar: "Observing the cold Universe with ALMA"

Universitätssternwarte
Türkenschanzstraße 17, 1180 Wien

Vortrag

The Atacama Large Millimetre Array (ALMA) is the largest radio-interferometer in the world. Its 64 antennas located at Chajnantor Plateau in Chile, the driest place on Earth 5100 m above sea level, provide this telescope with an unprecedented resolution to investigate the gas and dust across cosmic times. Join me in this talk exploring how ALMA is unveiling the cold Universe, from the formation of galaxies and black holes to the origin of planets and life.
