Anthropocene Islands

Vortrag mit Dr. Jonathan Pugh

Seminarraum 1, Institut für Europäische Ethnologie
Hanuschgasse 3, 1010 Wien

Islands are the emblematic figures of the Anthropocene: canaries in the coalmine for transforming planetary conditions and laboratories for new approaches to philosophy, politics and ethics. In this talk I will map out what I see as four key logics emerging in the Anthropocene: resilience, creative immanence, generic immanence and correlation. Throughout, I will explain how these logics appropriate, reconfigure and governmentalize island relationalities in the Anthropocene.

Vortrag mit Dr. Jonathan Pugh, Newcastle University (UK) im Rahmen des Institutskolloquiums "Anthropologie der Insel" im Wintersemester 2019/20.
