Vortrag

This essay is an exercise in global anthropology in order to have some idea of what the Frohe Zukunft (Happy Future) might be. Specifically, it analyzes two trends –tracks if you will- along which the world is currently travelling. One track is that of climate change. The other track is militarization of competing imperial social forms. It is argued that the telos of these tracks is set by intensifying and coalescing contradictions, that produce reproductive vulnerabilities, which in turn produce public délires -fixless fixes, which it speculates accelerate the trip to Frohe Zukunft. It further, finally, claims that the phrase Frohe Zukunft should only be used in irony. For Dante fans Dante makes an appearance.

Keywords: contradiction, reproductive vulnerabilities and fixes, climate change, militarization
