Supporters of blockchains and cryptocurrencies claim that they will revolutionise our economies and societies, drive banks and central banks out of business, and enable vast improvements in private businesses. In contrast, many experts, including central bankers, argue that cryptocurrencies are not reliable. The panel discussion focuses on how the blockchain works and if it can be applied in industry as well as on the question of whether cryptocurrencies are just bubbles, ready to burst.

 

After the discussion, Prof. Biais will answer questions from the audience, followed by a get-together with buffet.
