Simple synthesis of biochar for decontamination of water

Using an open conical kiln, we were able to produce several Kg of biochar with a hierarchical pore structure from micro to macropores and the composition usually obtained with more conventional methods. With this biochar, we were able to remove cationic as well as anionic pollutants from water, requiring the removal of the later a higher solid-to-liquid ratio in batch systems.
