How Time Affects What People Think About Social Justice

Our attitudes and preferences are affected, on the one hand, by the situation in which we currently live and, on the other hand, by the experiences we have made in the past. It is precisely these two aspects of the temporal embedding of individual life courses that have received little attention so far when it comes to the empirical analysis of individual attitudes on social justice. This lecture will present recent findings from innovative empirical studies on the change of justice attitudes over time as well as on the importance of the shadow of the past.
