Film & Discussion: Come to my Voice

Top Kino Saal 2
Rahlgasse 1, 1060 Vienna

The film series CINEMA & HUMAN RIGHTS which is a part of the human rights film festival this human world is titled #DIREN//BERXWE BIDE//RESIST – spaces, brothers, sisters and others and focuses on various forms of resistance in Turkey.

As a part of this series, we will screen the film “COME TO MY VOICE”:

After Temo, the man who connects young Jiyan and her grandmother Berfe, is taken from them by the Turkish military, they must embark on an odyssey together. They can only reunite their family by handing over Temo’s weapons – weapons that he never had. Come to My Voice is about two women’s search for a gun, about their relationship, and about the collective Kurdish experience.

The screening will be followed by a panel discussion which will be held in English. We are looking forward to Clemens LAHNER (lawyer) and Nazan ÜSTÜNDA? (Peace Parliament, Academics for Peace, Women for Peace). Moderation: Anna MÜLLER-FUNK (Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights; Research Centre Human Rights, University of Vienna).
