Verwandte, Freunde und ehemalige Kollegen und Studenten verabschieden sich von Patricia Häusler, die bis 2005 an der Universität Wien am Institut für Anglistik unterrichtet hat. In persönlichen Ansprachen und beim anschließenden informellen Beisammensein wollen wir uns liebevoll an Pat und ihr Leben und Schaffen erinnern.

 

Relatives, friends, former colleagues and students bid farewell to Patricia Häusler-Greenfield who taught at the Department of English until 2005. With personal speeches followed by informal socializing we will hold Pat's life and achievements in loving memory.

 

An Alumna of Cambridge (Modern and Medieval Languages) and Edinburgh (Applied Linguistics), Pat Häusler-Greenfield came to the department via Shell/BP and the British Council. She taught language and civilisation for 25 years. A former author and actor in schools broadcasting, chairwoman of TEA (Austrian English Teachers’ Association) and editor of its ELT News, she and her husband, Klaus, wrote textbooks for vocational schools. She was involved in INSET, syllabus design and vocabulary teaching. She taught Cultural Studies and writing at the Department of English of Vienna University.
