The OHCHR is the United Nations body mandated to promote and protect human rights for all. It is a forum for identifying, highlighting and responding to human rights challenges across the globe and acts as a point of convergence for diverse research, education, public information and advocacy activities related to human rights within the United Nations.

On the occasion of his visit in Austria the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights will be holding a public event, at which he will give a speech and then hold a question and answer session with members of the public. The event will be moderated by Manfred Nowak (Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights; Research Centre Human Rights of the University of Vienna).

The event is organized by the Research Centre Human Rights of the University of Vienna and the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights.
