About: Inka Kaakinen is an urban geographer based in the University of Tampere, Finland, where she works in the Space and Political Agency Research Group (SPARG). In the ie.talk she will draft the outlines of her new research project on irregular migration within the EU. She is currently collecting part of her research data in Vienna with a focus on questions of inclusions/exclusions, legality/ illegality, visibility, mobility and power structures that shape the diasporic spaces and everyday realities of the paperless migrants. This spring term Kaakinen joined the team of the Department of Development Studies as a research fellow.
