Adams Bodomo

is Professor of African Languages and Literatures at the Faculty of Philological and Cultural Studies at the University of Vienna. After completing his studies in Linguistics, French and Swahili at the University of Ghana, Bodomo attended the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). 1994–1995 Lecturer at the Stanford University, USA. 1994–1997 Ph.D in Linguistics/African Studies at NTNU. 1997–1998 Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Hong Kong, China, and 1998-2002 Assistant Professor ibid. From 2002–2013 Associate Professor in Hong Kong. 2003–2005 Director of the Cognitive Science Programme in Hong Kong. 2011 International Scholar, Centre for the Humanities Stanford University, USA. 2008–2013 Founding Director of the African Studies Programme in Hong Kong. 2009–2011 Chair at the Department of Linguistics in Hong Kong and 2012 Guest Professor at the Bayreuth University. Since 2013 Chief Editor for African Language Grammars and Dictionaries (ALG aD) Series at the Language Science Press in Berlin. Since August 2013 Professor of African Languages and Literatures at the University of Vienna. Since 2014 Board Member (Assistant Secretary General) of the Federation Internationale de Langues et Litteratures Modernes (FILLM), a UNESCO affiliate. Since May 2015 Director of the Global African Diaspora Studies (GADS) Research Platform at the University of Vienna.
