Vortrag

This paper deconstructs the discourse of globalization and modernity with which the name of Gurgaon has become synonymous. It attempts a contemporary visual narrative of an Indian suburban town in transition. This supplements the text and interrogates the possible meanings of modernity in contemporary India. The objective is to highlight the social multiplicities of a historical process glossed over by the media of globalization.
