“The New London Metallomics Facility: Expanding Fron-tiers in Correlative Elemental Bio-imaging”

Hörsaal 3 der Fakultät für Chemie
Währinger Straße 38, 1090 Wien

Vortrag

Understanding the role of metals in biological systems: this intuitively simple goal is central to the field of metal-lomics. A unique “master integrator”, metallomics embraces both reductionist and holistic methodological approaches, using metals as a common denominator to bridge many diverse fields of research, while expanding new areas of research in existing fields. This seminar will highlight current work in elemental bio-imaging, em-phasizing the importance of integrating x-ray spectroscopy into metallomic correlative workflows, and present a long term strategic vision of the newly created London Metallomics Facility.
