David J. Birnbaum, Professor in Slavic Languages and Literatures, is also a renowned expert in the field of Digital Humanities. Besides chairing the Slavic department at the University of Pittsburgh, Birnbaum teaches Computing in the Humanties and travels the globe as an expert in electronic text processing. In Vienna, he will talk about possible applications of Digital Humanities to the study of Slavic texts.
