Vortrag im Rahmen der Kooperation zwischen den Universitäten von Havanna und Wien und dem Alumnikreis der Fakultät für Psychologie.

Abstract: The academic training in psychology is closely linked to the different career fields as a professional psychologist as well as to the crucial historical periods of the Cuba’s cultural evolution. The presentation covers the origins of the Faculty of Psychology up to the present, depicting more closely the current academic training. A special focus will be showing how teaching and training of the professional is oriented to the labor market. A case study will highlight the way research findings are used to define the profile of psychologists employed in labor organizations. Further, academic and scientific activities at the Faculty are presented and the way the community of psychologists participate in student and scientific events. Finally, recent collaboration options will be outlined using as example the agreement between the Faculties of Psychology of the University of Havana and the University of Vienna.
